View of Stok Kangri

This 33-day undertaking, in aid of the Strategies for Hope Trust, includes 2 camping treks and at least 1 climb over 6000m. Our main objective is Stok Kangri, a peak of 6153m in the Zanskar Range. We also hope to attempt either the nearby Palam Peak (5370m), or more ambitiously, Azhang Leyu (6200m) or Kang Yatse (6400m).

Before the climbs we will do day hikes, a short trek and the longer Markha Valley trek. We will be based in Leh, the capital of Ladakh in India’s northernmost state of Jammu & Kashmir. Transport and climbing guides will be arranged there – far more economical and flexible than booking through an agency in the UK.

We also plan to cycle the 140-mile Coast to Coast route across northern England, also known as the Sea to Sea or C2C. This should take 5 days in August – click here to read more about the ride.
